You said you're goin' east But I live in the far west I don't really see you comin' back But who knows This life is a late harvest I like to think This car runs slow on the spanish hills I wonder if anyone ever lived here You would have said something like Let's get lost in there Dried up highways and silent roads Helped me getting through Hi's & lo's My hopes Are standing in the way of all the fine folks Livin' up the hills with their guilty ropes Why should I even care You said you're goin' east but I live in the far west I don't really see you comin' back But who knows This life is a late harvest I like to think Now I see the world goin' on fire What yesterday was sure today is not Who's up in a golden throne now tomorrow may fall We all have to go through hi's & lo's

Hey Neil, how'd you do it, I laid my last card on the table, at noon With the old fools Who come around here like I owe 'em something Bring your ass down here I got something for you Hey lady I got left for this washed-up game we play It's a goddamn shame That you left that way It's a goddamn shame That I left that way Godspeed she said to me The air down here is killing me

I grew up at the end of the world, a dead end full of life Winter ghost town, a summer beehive Stuck on the corner, between the wind and the sea Sliding down the mountains of my childhood memory Calling back, calling back Couldn't wait longer Well I'm coming back, coming back To go a little further The more I believe in, the more I need to know To keep up with my belief, while my suspicions grow Now I'm burning down the bridges that needed to be burnt Loyalties are for friendships, from business I have learnt Now I'm shooting from the hip at people I adore They catch the bullet with their teeth and I shoot some more Calling back, calling back Couldn't wait longer Well I'm coming back, coming back To go a little further O sol arde como ardia, há 200,000 anos no distinto dia Do nascer do macaco mais esperto, o homem sapiens não sabe nada é certo Que humildade tenho eu, de supor que sei como ocorreu O que está no passado, dificilmente é desenterrado mas Calling back, calling back Couldn't wait longer Well I'm coming back, coming back To go a little further

Little fish are swimming everywhere And I can't control their tide Little fish are swimming everywhere And I can't control their time Feet on the ground won't take a step Why should I when the world is Mad to its core? I can only hear noise If we should be two then why do People break up so easy? Find happiness in your solitude When I stop, can I still go everywhere? If I can't control my time If I change can I still go anywhere? When I can't control my tide Feet on the ground won't take a step Why should I when the world is Mad to its core? I can only hear noise If we should be two then why do People break up so easy? Find happiness in your solitude Come, move away Take all that's wrong and grow past its way I think I know what's been wrong with me Been taking for granted all that life has to be Feet on the ground won't take a step Why should I when the world is Mad to its core? I can only hear noise If we should be two then why do People break up so easy? Find happiness in your solitude

When the party is boring And you just arrived It feels just like your life Walkout go ride Now you're all surrounded And you don't belong But they could never know Don't tell, don't show Avalanches Keep on falling every day Avalanches Tricking me to make me stay Does it realy matter? Do you realy care? There's so much more to know Don't wait, just go You won't miss a thing And if you need a hand You can play in my band Avalanches Keep on falling everyday Avalanches Tricking me to make me stay Avalanches On a plot for my decay

This is just a part of being lonely This is just a part of being lonely And when the freckles take over my body When the freckles take over my body This is just a part of being lonely This is just a part of being lonely And when the freckles take over my body When the freckles take over my body Acceptance is a currency And we're the lower class Emotionally poor since our infancy Raised by kids with no abilities Momma always said I was an easy birth This is just a part of being lonely This is just a part of being lonely And when the freckles take over my body When the freckles take over my body Momma always said I was an easy birth Dad pushes everyone away Mom pulled away from everyone And life is like a tilde sign With ups and downs, not a straight line

Off the meds again, for "just a few months" 'Til I can’t cope again, 'til I'm unravelling There’s got to be another way to feel Seems to come easy to you But it evades me still You soften the descent to long talks and Self improvement, self improvement It must be hard to see me so down You come home from work and I'm just lying On the couch Like can't you pull me out? 'Cause you can't help if I don't take advice Even if that's as simple as to try I'd rather lash out than cry You soften the descent to long talks and self Improvement, self improvement When you close your eyes, I want to crawl Inside When you close your eyes, I know I’ll be Alright, when you close your eyes I spent my twenties, trying to accept these Vulnerabilities don’t make me weak I spent my twenties, trying to accept these Vulnerabilities don't make me weak I spent my twenties, trying to accept these Vulnerabilities don’t make me weak

Who am I? What have I done? See no more Sleepin' alone Then a hand came through my window Then a hand, warm and soft And a voice Oh, that voice Golden voice Hey, let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place Let's get out, let's get out Let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place Floating raindrops Tear the sky Freezin' time In a frame of life Then the doors were closed and open Then the doors, at the same time And that noise Oh, that noise White noise Hey, let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place Let's get out, let's get out Let's get out of this place Let's get out of this place

Long black limousine Shiniest car I've ever seen The back seat is nice and clean She rides as quiet as a dream Someone dug a hole six long feet in the ground I said goodbye to you and I threw my roses down Ain't nothing left at all in the end of being proud With me riding in this car, and you flying through the clouds I've had some time to think about you And watch the sun sink like a stone I've had some time to think about you On the long ride home One day I took your tiny hand Put your finger in the wedding band Your daddy gave a piece of land We laid ourselves the best of plans Forty years go by with someone laying in your bed Forty years of things you say you wish you'd never said How hard could it have been to say some kinder words instead I wonder as I stare up at the sky turning red I've had some time to think about you And watch the sun sink like a stone I've had some time to think about you On the long ride home Headlights staring at the driveway The house is dark as it can be I go inside and all is silent As it's as empty as the inside of me I've had some time to think about you And watch the sun sink like a stone I've had some time to think about you On the long, on the long On the long, on the long On the long ride home

People say she's crazy She got diamonds on the soles of her shoes Well that's one way to lose these Walking blues Diamonds on the soles of her shoes She was physically forgotten Then she slipped into my pocket With my car keys She said you've taken me for granted Because I please you Wearing these diamonds on the soles of her shoes And I could say ooh ooh ooh As if everybody knows What I was talking about I said everybody here knows exactly what I was talking about Talking about diamonds on the soles of her shoes She makes the sign of a teaspoon He makes the sign of a wave The poor boy changes clothes And puts on after-shave To compensate for his ordinary shoes She said honey take me dancing But they ended up sleeping In the doorway By the bodegas and the lights on Upper Broadway Wearing those diamonds I could say ooh ooh ooh As if everybody knows What I was talking about I said everybody here knows exactly what I was talking about Talking about diamonds on the soles of her shoes People say I'm crazy I got diamonds on the soles of my shoes Well that's one way to lose These walking blues Diamonds on the soles of our shoes She's a rich girl She don't try to hide it Diamonds on the soles of her shoes He's a poor boy Empty as a pocket Empty as a pocket with nothing to lose ta na na Ta na na na She's got diamonds on the soles of her shoes She's got diamonds on the soles of her shoes ta na na Ta na na na She's got diamonds on the soles of her shoes

There's a cry at night I can't hear your voice I got lost outside Lost in the mind In the field of mud, flowers and blood I can feel your luck, running on E I was rolling thunder Scared of the dark I was raised by wolves In the cold cold night I was death, dear One for the books I was rolling thunder There's a place I go Where no one has has been Its a rabbit hole And deeper I roam I found strangers live in the strangest places Behind your eyes and inside your soul I was rolling thunder Scared of the dark I was raised by wolves In the cold cold night I was death, dear One for the books I was rolling thunder

When I open my eyes So Bright, sunrise When I lose track of time Feels so, sublime If I wait in that line Don’t waste, my time Villa Getty Come into More every night More of you When I’m lost in my mind Can’t see, I’m blind Looking for the right time Something, some kind Villa Getty Come into More every night More of you Villa Getty Come into More every night More of you

How is your trip? Are they treating you kindly? Is your brother still there With his curls of gold hair? Is it much like a dream With a stream through a valley, And sand dunes shaped like faces You can almost recall? How you returned in june To spend time with your family... In a hot air balloon With the earth getting small... All i want is your time I know it's never been mine I'm just trying to be still up the hill towards your perfect light If only i'd known you'd be leaving so quickly Of all the places to go, you went somewhere so far Where the trees hum in years through the clearing of morning Eternally spent in a memory once lost But nothing is gone, just along in a secret place As the days stumble on And i try not to forget or waste them All i want is your time I know it's never been mine I'm just trying to be still up the hill towards your perfect light With the patience and will of a million men Before i...

about

To celebrate our first five years, we are releasing a retrospective compilation called ‘Five Years of Street Mission Records’ collecting songs from all our artists including Hesanobody, Delafaye, Niki Moss, Marinho, Time for T, Monday, Ailbhe Reddy, Cavalo55, Ricky Lewis and Elephant Path.

The collection features three songs specially recorded for the occasion - Delafaye original 'Rolling Thunder' which is magical, Time for T’s stunningly beautiful cover of Paul Simon’s ‘Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes’, and the long overdue recording of ‘Long Ride Home’ from Marinho & Cavalo55, a cover of a Patty Griffin classic. A video of their wonderful performance of it at our Street Mission Records night in Lisbon earlier this year will be released too.

Out on cassette and digitally. The digital version comes with two bonus tracks from the two newest members of the Street Mission family - Elephant Path, with the release of the brand-new dreamy song 'Getty Villa Garden', and Ricky Lewis with the first new song he released on the label ‘Perfect Light (Jimmy’s Song)’, closing out the compilation in the most perfect way possible.

Profits from the sale of the cassette will be given to União Audiovisual.

An eternal thank you to all of our artists that have called this label their home at various times over the past five years - being a part of their musical journeys has been, and continues to be such an inspiration, honour and privilege - thanks for making this possible and helping make this label what it is, and for making this dream of ours come true. It means the world to us, and we love ya. Thank you to everybody who has listened, supported, and stuck with us on the journey so far. There’s still so much to come.
